Michele Gambetta is a New York City-based artist who takes a multidisciplinary approach to art-making with an emphasis upon photography, social sculpture, and creating environments for exploration.
She received a Presidential Scholarship and BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996, and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2000. She was awarded 2 Brooklyn Arts Council re-grants through the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, an Independence Community Foundation Grant, and was co-awarded an Open Society grant in collaboration with Kadir van Lohuizen and Stanley Grant.
Michele is a native NY-er living in Brooklyn for the last 15 years. She founded the Art-Anon artists Critique group, and Founded Rider Projects which exhibited from 2001-2008.. Michele is currently spearheading ArtCondo, a collaborative, community-focused real estate project for NYC artists.
